WHAT IS MEMO? MEMO is a form of communication that s between parties within the same company or organization. A memo does not require a full address of the recipient. Memo's body -Heading : To: readers names or job titles From : your name or the writter or job title Date : current date Subject: what the memo is about (be spesific) -Purpose: in paragrpah one, state the point or main idea of your memo -Body: In paragraph two, provide the explanation and background data to support your point if required. -Conclusion: In paragraph three, conclude your memo with an action statement by telling your readers exactly what you want them to do. -Closing: regards, name, job title. ex: (source: safaribooksonline.com)

GIVING ADVICE OR SUGGESTION

ADVICE/SUGGESTION It's about giving recommend and counsel people to do something or just giving some reason for influence the people. Advise commonly use for consideration. Suggestion usually used to recommendation something. ex: Student : I'm terrible at English and I think I should do something about it. What do you advise me to do? ( asking for advice) Teacher: I think you should try this website. It's a fantastic website for beginners. Student: I've heard about it, but what do you think I should start with? (asking for advice) Teacher: You'd better start with the lesson. Then, try the exercises (giving advice)

OBLIGATION AND NECESSITY

OBLIGATION Present Obligation: must / have to ==> formula We use must to talk about internal obligation.        e.g: You must obey your parents. We use have to (which is not a modal verb) to talk about external obligation.        e.g: You have to go up the stairs as the lift is out of order Past obligation: had to We use had to to talk about a past obligation.        e.g: I  had to fill in a form to apply for the job. PERSUADING -Persuading means to incude someone to do something through reasoning or argument. -Persuading refes to a situation where used in situations that result in actions. -Adverse Effects are more severe and life threatening. TRYING TO PERSUADE: -Are you sure you ought to make that complaint? -You really should invite your boss, you know. -That's quite a good idea, you know. -He's an excellent preacher, actually. CONVINCING -Convincing means to cause someone to believe firmly in the truth of something -Convincing refers to a situation where a person's belief is changed, but no action is taken as a result. -Convincing cannot be used with an infinitive. Procedural text is text for tell someone how to do something. It's very usefull for us, because when we don't know about making something, we just read the procedural text. If around of your house there is no ground and you feel very difficult to find a ground as a main media for planting. So, don't worry about that. We can use this way to planting. In this metode, we will grow a plants by using media beside the ground.
